In June 1950 North Korea invaded the South. UN troops, among them Dutch soldiers, and later Chinese armies joined the fighting, and the front swept up and down the peninsula. Three years later it ended close to where it began. Students follow the war on the map and ask why it never officially ended.
Una llamada de la historia · nuevo
Early April 1951, just before dismissing General MacArthur
The White House, Washington, D.C.
“You must decide whether to let General MacArthur attack Chinese territory to try to win the war quickly, or to keep the conflict limited to Korea. Attacking China could risk a much larger war, but limiting the war might mean no clear victory.”
Should I approve MacArthur's plan to attack China, or keep the war limited to Korea?
