The last week of June 1948, just after the blockade begins
The White House, Washington, D.C.
“You must decide how to respond to the Soviet blockade of West Berlin. You can try to send military convoys by land, risking conflict, or attempt to supply the city by air, which has never been done on this scale. The world is watching how the United States will act.”
Should I order an airlift to supply West Berlin, risk sending armed convoys by land, or consider negotiating with the Soviets?
