The evening of 11 May 1885, after the Battle of Batoche
Batoche, Saskatchewan
“You must decide whether to surrender to the Canadian government, keep fighting with the few Métis and First Nations allies who remain, or try to escape into hiding. Surrender may mean arrest or worse, but fighting on could risk more lives. Escape might protect you, but leave your people without a leader.”
Should I surrender, keep fighting, or try to escape?
