Un appel de l’histoire · nouveau
Early November 1805, just after reaching the Pacific Ocean
Near the mouth of the Columbia River, present-day Oregon
“You must decide where to build the winter camp for the Corps of Discovery. You can choose to stay on the north side of the Columbia River, which is U.S. territory, or cross to the south side, which is claimed by Spain. The weather is harsh, and you must also consider the local Native peoples and the resources available.”
Should we build our winter camp on the north or south side of the Columbia River?
