The new imperial palace in Beijing
“You must decide whether to keep the capital in Nanjing, far to the south, or to make Beijing, here in the north, the main seat of government. Nanjing is safer and closer to rich farmland, but Beijing is closer to the frontier and my old power base. The move is costly and risky, but it may strengthen control over the north.”
Should I keep the capital in Nanjing, or declare Beijing the new capital of the Ming empire?
